Unlimited
  • Anything goes in the Unlimited Division as long as it passes safety inspection and meets The Broadmoor PPIHC’s general competition rules. The Unlimited Division features some of the most exotic vehicles in the world, and most are specifically built for The Broadmoor PPIHC. Time Attack 1
  • The Time Attack 1 Division includes highly-modified and specialized production-based two and four-wheel drive vehicles. Eligibility is restricted to close-bodied four-wheeled vehicles.  Record: 2018 David Donohue, ’17 Porsche GT3 R – 9:37.152
Pikes Peak Cup
  • The Pikes Peak Cup is reserved for manufacturers, sanctioning bodies, organizations and individuals that have formed partnerships with the PPIHC.

Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Pikes Peak Hill Climb Trophy by Yokohama

Making its debut on Pikes Peak this year is the first official one-make Porsche category, exclusive to the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport in four variants: Clubsport, Clubsport Trophy Specification, Clubsport MR, and Clubsport 2017 IMSA GS. Record: 2018 Travis Pastrana, 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport – 10:33.897

Open Wheel
  • The traditional racecars on Pikes Peak with appearances ranging from Indy style sprinters to dune buggies. Open Wheel racers have competed in every running of The Broadmoor PPIHC since the inaugural race in 1916. Record: 2017 Clint Vahsholtz, ’13 Ford Open– 9:35.747
Pikes Peak Open
  • These cars may look like stock cars from the outside, but major modifications can be done to their engines, transmissions and suspension. Record: 2018 Peter Cunningham, 2018 Acura TLX GT – 9:27.352
Exhibition
  • In keeping with the mission statement of The Broadmoor PPIHC, specifically to “promote and demonstrate advancements in the practical application of motor sports technology and automotive engineering,” the race encourages competitors with vehicles that do not meet the technical specifications of PPIHC sanctioned divisions to enter in the Exhibition Division. While there are no records for this class because of its exhibition status, entries are eligible for recording an overall course record, or attempting specific former class records, if their vehicle passes Technical Inspection under the rules of those former classes.

Motorcycle Divisions

Pikes Peak Heavyweight
  • Pikes Peak Heavyweight is traditionally the top motorcycle division at The Broadmoor PPIHC. This division features some of the fastest bikes the market has to offer. Record: 2017 Chris Fillmore (Rookie), 2017 KTM Super Duke 1290 R – 9:49.625
Pikes Peak Middleweight
  • The Pikes Peak Middleweight Division features a wide range of motorcycles. Competitors in this division are allowed to enter motorcycles boasting two or four-stroke engines that do not exceed four cylinders and have a displacement between 501 and 750cc.   Pikes Peak Lightweight
  • Pikes Peak Lightweight is a great division for the development of both man and machine. Competitors in this division are allowed to enter motorcycles boasting two or four-stroke engines that do not exceed two cylinders and a displacement of 500cc. Record: 2017 Davey Durelle, ’09 Aprillia SXV450  – 10:35.354
Exhibition Powersport
  • This division exists to encourage manufacturers and builders to enter prototype or pre-production vehicles that do not fit perfectly in other PPIHC sanctioned d While there are no records for this class because of its exhibition status, entries are eligible for recording an overall motorcycle course record or attempting specific former class records, if their vehicle passes Technical Inspection under the rules of those former classes.
