Colorado Springs——Jannarelly-PureDrive will become the first emirates-based enterprise to take part in America’s second oldest motorsport event, the 96th running of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo, on June 24.

A specially developed version of Jannarelly’s Design-1 sportscar will be featured as the designated ‘Official Safety Car’ designed, developed and operated in conjunction with Dubai-based PureDrive Automotive, and supported by Pirelli, Fyshe-Adidas Motorsport, Tag Heuer, Gran Turismo, and CARS Automotive Relocation Services.

Jannarelly Co-Founder, Anthony Jannarelly said, “Providing the Official Safety Car through our partnership with PureDrive is a fantastic introduction to the racing world. The Race to the Clouds on America’s Mountain is all about a twisting road and pure thrills, so this is the perfect playground to enjoy the driving experience of our retro-futuristic Design-1. Our goal is to establish a long relationship with PureDrive and the PPIHC, learn as much as possible this year, and start competing in 2019.”

The Design-1 has much in common with the Hill Climb–wrapped within the 1960’s inspired body is a raw and emotive spirit, honed by people of passion, to immerse the driver in a truly unique experience. Packing +320BHP yet weighing only 810KG in standard form, the auto offers supercar bating performance with an absence of inhibiting electronics, allowing the driver to retain a level of connection missing from the modern driving experience. Jannarelly’s design philosophy allows the car to be mechanically and aesthetically tailored to the exacting requirements of each owner.

From the outset, Anthony Jannarelly was adamant that the Design-1’s exclusivity should be reflected in its strictly limited-production numbers, not the price tag. The result: this car can be purchased for only US$90,000/£67,000 with base specifications.

It is still possible to reserve one of the 30 ‘Launch Edition’ vehicles, but fans of PPIHC may be more interested in the ‘Pikes Peak Edition’, limited to just 10 models for 2018 and co-developed by PureDrive Automotive. This special edition vehicle features upgrades such as an Ohlins suspension, carbon fiber aero pack and sports exhaust to name a few.

Theodore Measures, Director of PureDrive Automotive, echoes Jannarelly’s passion for this project. “For our team, this represents an exciting opportunity to deploy a diverse range of skills, knowledge, experience and contacts assembled through provision of both our industry-facing consultancy services and public-facing luxury rental, driving tours and experiences.”
