PPIHC REVEALS 2024 COMPETITOR AWARDS
Colorado Springs, Colorado — The 102nd Running of the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo is pleased to roll out a host of competition awards for drivers in this year’s Race to the Clouds. The PPIHC Awards Ceremony, is slated for Monday, June 24, and will be presented by B.R.M Americas.
Division Winner Timepieces
Each custom timepiece features a specially-designed dial including tribute flags representing participating countries. The motif continues in the colorful Alcantara strap.
“The Race to the Clouds is truly one of the most thrilling Sundays of the year,” shared BRM Americas President, Frederic Gasser. “It’s not just a race; it’s the ultimate motorsport quest.” Gasser will be on hand to present these unique chronographs to each division winner. Unser Legacy King of the Mountain Ring
In the second year of a partnership with Jostens, the PPIHC will award this one-of-a-kind, gold and diamond championship ring to the 2024 King of the Mountain.
This coveted jewelry creation is sponsored by the Museum of American Speed, new home of the expanded Unser Collection. The MOAS, along with Speedway Motors in Lincoln, Nebraska, have a long history of racing success on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain.
The ring’s unique styling includes course statistics, a symbol of the iconic mountain, and a nod to the 2024 PPIHC theme, “Often Challenged. Rarely Conquered.”
King of the Mountain Custom Sports Coat
The 2024 King of the Mountain will also receive a custom-tailored, hand-stitched sports coat, courtesy of INHERENT. This popular award is created exclusively for the overall event champion, custom-tailored, crafted of the finest material, and valued at more than $1,600.
PPIHC Trophies by Glassical Designs
The PPIHC has revealed the new trophy design for 2024. Division sponsors are: Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama, sponsored by Yokohama Tire; Unlimited, sponsored by Colorado Springs Airport; Time Attack 1, sponsored by Mobil 1™; Pikes Peak Open, sponsored by Olsen Plumbing and Heating; Open Wheel, sponsored by Museum of American Speed; and Exhibition, sponsored by Alpine Bank.
PPIHC Prize Money
A $70,000 purse will be awarded to competitors across five divisions including $5,000 to the King of the Mountain. If a new overall course record is set on Race Day, an additional $10,000 will be awarded to the overall record-setting competitor.
Fast 15 Awards
The PPIHC’s Fast 15 qualifiers will be recognized with a framed Larry Chen photo commemorating their qualifying time.
Turtle Wax Product Package
The winning driver in each division will receive a variety of auto detailing products, including car wash, cleaner, tire prep, tire shine and a variety of ceramic products, courtesy of Turtle Wax.
Be All You Can Be Award
NEW for 2024 – The US Army’s 10th Special Forces Group (A), based at Ft. Carson, Colorado, is proud to offer the “Be All You Can Be” award. The winning competitor will be chosen by the 10th Special Forces Group.
Alcon Brake No Holding Back Award
A voucher for $12,000 worth of bespoke race brake/clutch products will be presented to the award winner. Chosen by Alcon, this award is presented to a driver who has demonstrated outstanding perseverance and determination in their 2024 race to the 14,115’ summit.
Bergmeister Trophy
Under a multi-year agreement, participants racing in five divisions, including Open Wheel, Exhibition, Pikes Peak Open, Time Attack 1, and Unlimited will have the opportunity to earn up to four (4) free Hoosier tires. To be eligible for the program, teams must use approved Hoosier tires and display Hoosier decals on their vehicles. Tires will be awarded to those taking part in the contingency program based on podium finishes.
