PPIHC WELCOMES WOMEN WITH DRIVE: Pikes Peak
Colorado Springs, Colorado — The 102nd Running of the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo is partnering with Women in Motorsports North America and Parity to host their latest Women with Drive event.
Melissa Eickhoff, PPIHC CEO, shared, “We are proud that WIMNA has chosen Colorado Springs, and the Race to the Clouds, as the latest installment in their Women with Drive series. As the sport continues to evolve, it’s important to focus conversations on diversity and inclusivity across motorsport genres.”
“Over the span of this 102-year-old event, we have never had the depth of experience represented by women in this year’s race,” explained Lisa Haight, PPIHC Historian. “The opportunity to hear their stories and talk about how they reached this point in their careers will certainly motivate the next generation.”

Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA) and Parity, the sports marketing and sponsorship platform dedicated to closing the gender income and opportunity gap in professional sports, today announced the latest edition of their collaborative event series Women with Drive: Pikes Peak, presented by RBC Wealth Management. The event will celebrate that for the first time in history, the PPIHC will feature six women drivers: Mary Barker, Ryan Cheek, Laura Hayes, Katherine Legge, Kathryn Mead, and Loni Unser.
The event will feature an exclusive panel and reception on June 21 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 100 notable industry leaders, race car drivers, and executives. Parity CEO Leela Srinivasan will moderate the panel discussion and will include Laura Hayes and Loni Unser (both scheduled to compete in the race) as well as Kate Brim (2x World Champion, handcycling) and Sammy Schultz (Olympian, modern pentathlon). The discussion will touch on various topics, including the continued growth of women’s sports, women athletes as leaders and competitors, opportunities to continue equal representation, and the future of women in racing.
